Who we are
Directional CIC is a Community Interest Company registered in England and Wales. Our registered address is available on request — please email admin@directionalcic.org. For any data protection enquiry, please use the same address. We act as the data controller for personal information collected through this website.
What data we collect
We only collect what we need to respond to you and run our services responsibly:
- Information you give us through our contact, referral, or support forms — typically your name, email, phone number, role or organisation, and the details of your enquiry.
- Information collected automatically when analytics are enabled — limited device and browser information and the pages you visit, processed by Google Analytics 4 in pseudonymised form. We do not use this data to build advertising profiles.
- Voice concierge interactions — if you choose to activate the on-page voice assistant, your audio is sent to our voice provider, ElevenLabs, only for the duration of that conversation so it can respond. Audio is not transmitted unless you start the assistant.
- Cookies — see the Cookies section below.
How we use your data
We use your information to reply to enquiries, deliver and improve our services, meet our safeguarding and statutory obligations, and — only where you have consented — to understand how the site is used. The lawful bases we rely on under UK GDPR are:
- Legitimate interests — responding to enquiries, running referrals, and operating the website securely.
- Consent — analytics and any optional cookies, and email newsletters where offered.
- Legal obligation — safeguarding duties and record-keeping required by law.
We share data only with service providers who help us operate the site and our services, including Google Analytics (analytics, with your consent) and ElevenLabs (voice concierge, only when you activate it). We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.We keep enquiry information only for as long as is needed to respond to you and to meet our safeguarding and record-keeping duties, then delete it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to erase your information where there is no good reason for us to keep it;
- restrict or object to how we use your information;
- ask for a copy of information you have given us in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, email admin@directionalcic.org. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data.
Cookies
We set strictly necessary cookies that are needed for the site to work. Analytics and any other optional cookies are only set after you give consent through our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time. For full details and controls, see our Cookie Policy.
